How to use the Praxis learning platform

Peer Mentor’s Scope of Work

Administrative Hours: Peer Mentors are expected to meet with the Mentor Coordinator once a month by phone or video conferencing to review progress on mentoring tasks. Peer Mentors are expected to participate in orientations on how to use the Praxis learning platform and how mentoring interactions should be structured. Your first contact with your mentee has been designed as a lesson and is provided for you to share with your mentee. You will receive the lesson during the Mentoring Orientation. The invoice reflects the monthly expectations and may serve as a guide to help you schedule your Peer Mentoring tasks each month.

Virtual Classroom: Peer Mentors are expected to work in small groups of 2 or 3 to plan and present on a topic the group selects. See the titles of Peer Mentor group presentations in the Praxis learning platform to avoid duplication of topics. The Mentor Coordinator will assist you in forming groups and advising you through your planning process. A presentation date may be assigned to you if you haven’t confirmed one with the Mentor Coordinator. All presentations occur within the Praxis learning platform in the Virtual Classroom and are recorded. All Peer Mentors and Faculty Mentors are expected to participate on the day of the live presentation if your schedule will allow it. Your support for your colleagues is greatly appreciated.

Individual Communication: Peer Mentors are expected to contact their mentee within their assigned private space in the Praxis learning platform at least once a week. This effort is estimated to take about 15 minutes a week.

Group Discussion Postings: Peer Mentors are expected to post in the Group Discussion at least once a week. This effort is estimated to take about 15 minutes a week.

Recruitment: Peer Mentors are expected to post Aseto’ne recruitment materials in social media at least once a week. The Mentor Coordinator will provide the most current recruitment materials during the Mentoring Orientation. This effort is estimated to take about 5 minutes each week, or 20 minutes a month. Please share a screen shot of the postings with the Mentor Coordinator.
